Question: How to change filter on automatic transmissson

My transmission will sometime down shift while running 60 mph on highway it goes from high to second. The dipstick tube is made into the pan and I can't get to the bolt in back of the bell housing that holds the tube in place. Need to remove it so I can drop the pan and tube. Any ideas on what to do? Thank you
